B2 Observation Form

In an observational interview, recruiters observe applicants completing work-related tasks such as a role-play to assess their skills and competency. Candidates may or may not be made aware that these observations are contributing to the selection decision. Activities may include;

  • Group discussions

  • Group problem-solving tasks

  • Role play activities

  • In tray exercises

  • Assessment of IT skills

An observation form is a document used by interviewers to record the performance of candidates. The form is often a multiple-choice or checklist that is easy for the observers to complete. The recruiters should identify the skills and qualities desirable in the right candidate, create tasks that provide opportunities for candidates to demonstrate them and observation forms to record.
