B2 Interview Feedback Form
Interview feedback forms are documents that can be completed by an interview panel to rate candidates on the range of skills and aptitudes they demonstrate during the interview. Feedback forms usually contain scoring systems for different responses with space for writing fuller thoughts about the candidate for the interviewer to use for a later recap. The forms should be consistent across all candidates to allow for a fair comparison.
Interview feedback forms can be helpful as members of the panel may have forgotten some of the details of earlier candidates by the time conversations about who to offer the position take place. Where a disagreement occurs between panel members as to the suitability of different applicants, panel members can refer to their notes to support their justification.
A good interview feedback form will allow the panel to quickly and easily rate candidates on their coverage of the person specification in a way that does not distract them too much from the candidate during the interview.
Unsuccessful candidates may request feedback on their performance to understand why they were not offered their position. This feedback can be helpful to the candidates to prepare for future interviews. There may also be situations where a candidate believes they have been discriminated against and may contest the decision. In this case, it is important that evidence of decision-making is available to justify ethical recruitment.
