A2 Using Exit Interviews

Exit interviews are conversations between HR staff and members of staff who have decided to leave the company. The aim of the interview is to establish the reasons why the employee has decided to leave and their overall experience whilst working at the organisation. Exit interviews may uncover issues with the workplace that may have previously been unknown to HR staff and can drive strategies to make changes to improve working conditions, culture and leadership that may improve retention. Leaving employees tend to be more candid about negative aspects of the workplace than those who wish to stay or have not yet found alternative employment.
